After kickstarting the year a little low on energy I changed doctors and discovered that I have an underactive thyroid, which was picked up in tests back in 2006 but my then doctor didn’t pick it up or felt that it wasn’t something to be concerned about. I have also found out that my Vitamin B12 levels were being tested incorrectly and that not only was I extremely low in Vitamin B12, I had very low levels of Vitamin D and Iodine. To top it off, I have Candidia throughout my body – which I never knew could effect the whole body.
Instead of trying to continue to live my life the way I have, I’ve taken a big step backwards and rested when I’ve felt like it, worked when I’ve had the energy and just nurtured myself. I’ve spent time with my gratitude diary, re-evaluated the foods I eat and enjoyed getting back into reading for pleasure.
I am starting to feel better and a lot of my previous symptoms – which I won’t go into – have gone. My energy levels are starting to rise and I feel like I want to step back out into the world.
I have also felt like I wanted to S-H-A-K-E things up and to do so I’ve joined Bootcamp which is just 5 minutes from home. It’s only 2 nights a week for 55 minutes and my first session was tonight. I L-O-V-E-D it!!! Even though bootcamp was challenging, I really enjoyed the variety and doing exercise outside.
Attending these sessions will allow me to connect with women in my community – most of my work is in town and most of the women around the area are mothers, so making friends has been a little difficult. I know, I could have hung out at the playgrounds or crashed mother’s group, but truthfully, it’s not my thing.
Now I would love to reconnect with people online so I look forward to getting back into my blogging.
If you stop by, please say HI… and if I visit you, I’ll be sure in saying HI too.
See you around in cyberspace!

Hiya Nicole…welcome back. Good for you finding out what is wrong and at least being able to get started doing something about it. Some days I have nothing nice to say about doctors…
I am sending your entry to another friend who may want to take it to her doctor….sounds too familiar….

Thanks Veronica – you’re such a doll! Encourage your friend to try other doctors… I’ve had 5 different doctors in 5 years (4 all from the same practice) and my 5th doctor is from a different practice but fantastic. What I found is that my past Drs seemed to get stuck on 1 issue, my Vitamin B12 deficiency and even when talking to them about my other symptoms they put it down to the Vitamin B12 rather than exploring outside of that issue. This has been going on for 9 years and enough it enough!
