I know we’re suppose to show off photos outside of the home but I couldn’t resist sharing with you this… a cake in a cup. A friend of mine sent me the recipe for “The Most Dangerous Cake in the World” and I was a little bored so I thought I’d give it a go and take photos of each step. I didn’t have all the same ingredients, mine are in brackets.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons flour (or organic unbleached flour)
- 4 tablespoons sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa (or drinking chocolate)
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk (or soy milk)
- 3 tablespoons oil (or canola oil)
- 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
- a small splash of vanilla extract
- 1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
It did taste good. If you try it out, please tell me how you go.

After showing off the photos to hubby, he was disappointed that he missed out so I made him one after dinner. He was chuffed and said it was delicious! It’s so easy… a bit too easy.

This sounds like a great little recipe. It looks decadent too. Gonna give this a try. Even tho we are only 5 min from a great chocolate cake, at least it is single serving instead of having a large cake all cooked and calling out to you at any time. At least this way, you have to measure and cook to enjoy. Thanks for sharing this.
