As you know I’ve been very lucky to travel around Asia in the past 18 months and once I knew I was moving to Hong Kong I said to my husband that we had to go to the Tiger Sanctuary in Thailand. We eventually got there and just as I had planned, I got to sit with some of the tigers.
These tigers have been hand raised by Buddhist Monks and this fellow in my lap loves sucking on thumbs and fingers, just as he use to suck on a bottle as a cub. He also loves a good scratch under the chin. This is a must see place for all animal lovers, especially if you love cats – big and small. You can read more about it at http://www.walkingwithtigers.org/

And here is a photo I took while in Vietnam. It never ceased to amaze me what people carried on the back of their bikes or motor bikes.

I love the toilet paper photo.
You wouldn’t want to use a tiger for toilet paper though, it could turn out really bad.

I think I’d be needing a lot of toilet paper with all those tigers lurking about!

Mike, you made me laugh. Yes it was a little scary at first but then just being near them was a high in itself.

LOL Denise… why not? You would have to ride a little slower and get off the bike when turning corners and walk it, but you could do it. LOL!

hey nicole,
i’m brand new to the ABC wednesday thing and trying to make my rounds to say hello.
I love the fact that you got to sit with a tiger… thats pretty rad. I think I have a picture somewhere of someone in my family that had that oppourtunity with a baby tiger at some fair or something but they just had a bottle in its mouth, took the bottle out, snapped the picture, put the bottle back in. haha
you can see my post here

Your ABC posts are so interesting–thanks for making a comment on my blog so that I could find yours. And I’m wondering if you’ve given me the answer to a question I kept asking myself today–why are there so many Santa Clauses walking around Portland today? I must have seen at least a dozen or more as I walked about, taking photos of bridges, etc. over a five-hour period. And I heard a woman talking on her cell phone in Walgreens saying that she was about to join her friends who had been bar crawling since noon (it was 4 p.m. or so when I heard her say that). Could it have been a Santa Claus pub crawl? I may never know for sure, but I do like the sound of it.
